Beef Shawarma Pita Wraps

Topping

  • Lettuce pieces
  • Sliced tomato
  • Pickled turnips
  • Premade hummus

Shawarma spice

  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom

Shawarma

  • 1/2 kg top sirloin steak thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp shawarma spice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare shawarma spice and set aside. Store in a cool, dry place
  2. In a bowl, add all shawarma ingredients and marinate for 3 hours.
  3. In a heated skillet add marinated beef and stir occasionally until cooked through draining any excess liquid.
  4. On a pita add beef, tomatoes, pickled turnips and premade hummus. Wrap and enjoy warm.
